Whether the weather is balmy and lovely, it is a great time to plan an outdoor event. Maybe your outdoor event is as complicated as getting the entire company out for a picnic, or maybe you just want to make sure that you get your family out to enjoy the mild weather. In either case, you’ll discover that there are a number of things to keep in mind as you plan to head out.
Mix Indoor and Outdoor
If you are going to be in the heart of a beautiful city like London, there are opportunities for entertainment that is located indoors and outdoors. Don’t limit yourself to things like parks and shopping when you can also attend events like plays and musicals. One way to mix it up a little is to do one activity and then another. Purchase theatre tickets for a morning or early afternoon showing, and then head out for a dinner at your favorite outdoor cafe. Seeing something first will give you plenty to talk about.
Always have a good idea of what kind of weather you are going to be dealing with, and if things are looking a little precarious, consider making sure that you have an alternate location. The larger your event is, the more important it is for you to have a place to take it indoors. Remember that the weather can change very fast, especially if you are hosting an event in the spring and fall. An alternate location might be as simple as having a pavilion nearby or as involved as taking everyone to the theatre!
Good Seating and Access
When you are plotting and outdoor event, remember that you should have comfortable places for people to sit. It is easy to forget all about seating when you are deciding what is going to happen and what kind of food to get, but seating needs to be comfortable for a good experience. On top of that, make sure that the outdoor site that you choose is accessible to those with mobility issues. You do not want to pick a site that only some people can get to, no matter how pretty it is.
An outdoor event is a great way to get your friends, family and coworkers excited and having fun, so make sure that you plan ahead. The more you plan, the better the event will be, so start planning today!
